Deirdre Ramsay is a graduate of the National College of Art and Design with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Printmaking. For this project, she draws on her deep connection to Inis Bó Finne, where the island’s peaceful atmosphere evoked a powerful sense of memory and presence. Inspired by childhood stories from her mother about the fae as guardians of nature, Deirdre creates tiny, handcrafted pieces of furniture—chairs, tables, and shelves—designed as offerings to the fae and hidden throughout the island. These delicate works, made from natural materials like twigs, wire, twine, and dried flowers, act as quiet tributes to the domestic lives of those who once inhabited the island. Placed on stone walls, windowsills, or nestled into the landscape, each piece bridges the physical remnants of abandoned homes with imagined traces of past lives—honouring memory, presence, and place.
